The Commercial Diver Institute of Canada (CDI) was first audited in 2007 and again in 2011 by the Diver Certification Board of Canada (DCBC) and was found to be in compliance with the CSA 275.4 competency standard for the training of Unrestricted Surface Supplied Divers, Unrestricted Surface Supplied Supervisors, Occupational Unrestricted Scuba Divers and Occupational Unrestricted Scuba Supervisors and is duly authorized to conduct Prior Learning Assessment Reviews (P.L.A.R.) for divers wishing to obtain the DCBC credential. The CSA Z275.4 competency standards are fully recognized by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) of the United Kingdom and the Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS), and most other diving and national certifying regulatory agencies having reciprocity agreements with the aforementioned authorities. CDI is the first Canadian Diver Training Institute west of Toronto to achieve these accreditation through the Diver Certification Board of Canada. The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) fully recognizes the DCBC certification our students receive.
The Commercial Diver Institute of Canada has also been audited by Work Safe BC and has met all compliance requirements under Section 24 of the Occupational Health & Safety Guide. The BC Safety Authority has also inspected and certified all pressure vessels for human occupancy as well as all breathing air receivers used in the diving plants.
